16 May 2024
Hong Kong Disneyland is considered a dream theme park for Disney enthusiasts. It's filled with adorable attractions that combine entertainment with spectacular shows under a sky full of stars. As one of the six Disneyland resorts worldwide and the closest to Thailand, just a 3-hour flight away, it's easily accessible. Click to book flight tickets is simple, and navigating within Hong Kong itself is convenient with excellent connectivity. These reasons make it compelling to invite everyone to explore new experiences and embrace a world of adventure with us.
Inside Hong Kong Disneyland, you'll find everything from rides, restaurants, souvenir shops, to showrooms, divided into 8 main zones. If you're wondering if it's suitable to bring young children, rest assured! Gother has specified which rides are child-friendly or have no height restrictions. Rest easy, it's all taken care of!
World of Frozen
Recently debuted, the sprawling "Frozen" themed land is the largest of its kind globally, eagerly awaited by all. We couldn't miss talking about it first! This World of Frozen is the newest attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland, opening in late 2023. Inspired by the films Frozen and Frozen 2, it faithfully recreates the vibrant Arendelle landscape and beloved characters. From Arendelle Castle, King Agnarr's Bridge, the Arendelle Village, to the Northern Mountain and Queen Elsa's Ice Palace, these highlights are not to be missed. Wandering Ocken's Sliding Sleighs transforms the backyard hill into an adventurous and delightful sleigh ride, with queues that are no joke. Olaf and Sven ensure joy throughout the journey (height limit: 95 cm and above). Frozen Ever After celebrates Summer Snow Day with a boat trip through the Frozen Ever After attraction to meet Elsa at her Ice Palace—an incredibly beautiful and fun experience not to be missed (no height limit). Playhouse in the Woods offers a secret refuge for kids, featuring an interactive stage show with Princess Anna, Elsa, and Olaf. Book ahead for this one—exclusively in the Disneyland app (no height limit).
Main Street USA Zone
Actually, it's the first zone you encounter upon entering Hong Kong Disneyland. Just earlier, I briefly took a stroll through Arendelle. This zone features a long pathway lined with shops and boutiques on both sides. Whichever way you look, it feels like there's a spell beckoning you in with open arms, making it easy to enter. Most people tend to stop here for photos, enchanted by its beauty. However, don't get too captivated for too long! I recommend heading straight inside first and quickly joining the queue for the attractions. You can always come back for more photos on your way out and still make it in time.
Tomorrowland Zone
Hyperspace Mountain is Hong Kong Disneyland's thrilling space roller coaster where you twist and turn, dodging laser blasts as if you're really on a spacecraft in a real battle. The state-of-the-art light and sound effects make it no surprise that this ride has become a highlight at Disney parks worldwide-it's so much fun, you have to try it! Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle shrinks us down to miniature size, equipped with laser blasters, as we board a vehicle to complete a mission. The more targets we hit, the higher our score (no height limit). Iron Man Experience is an exhilarating Marvel-themed ride where, with StarkVision glasses on, you'll feel like you're flying just like Iron Man himself. Don't miss the chance to experience this exciting adventure-it's highly recommended! Orbitron is a UFO-themed ride that spins and floats up and down around Saturn (no height limit).
Toy Story Land Zone
Fans of Toy Story walking into this zone at Hong Kong Disneyland will be wowed by the decoration that makes it feel like stepping into a giant toy box. Sheriff Woody's presence makes everything look oversized as if we've been shrunk down, with the giant Rex welcoming us at the entrance. Despite looking cute, the toys in this zone aren't too thrilled to see us. RC Racer is a U-shaped roller coaster resembling Andy's RC toy from Toy Story. Those who enjoy thrilling rides won't be disappointed—prepare to scream until your throat hurts! Toy Soldier Parachute Drop is a drop tower ride where we sit under a parachute, ascend vertically to enjoy beautiful views for a brief moment, then they drop us back down. This one requires a height of at least 81 cm to ride. Slinky Dog Spin, or simply put, a spinning dog! It's incredibly fun, so no matter how long the queue is, I highly recommend giving it a try (no height limit).
Adventureland Zone
ungle River Cruise is an adventurous boat ride into the heart of a treasure-filled land. Guided by boat drivers and entertaining skippers, they keep us excited throughout the journey. Join us as we navigate through this jungle to discover what surprises await. And just before it ends, there's an exhilarating effect that will surely keep everyone on the edge of their seats—no sitting in a line, kids are sure to love it!
Fantasyland Zone
Little ones should definitely head here first because every attraction in this zone at Hong Kong Disneyland is designed for children without any height restrictions. It's a place to spark their imagination in a fairy tale land, complete with castles and plenty of adorable rides. Perfect for kids, these highlights are not to be missed! The Mad Hatter Tea Cups offer giant spinning teacups that are a whirlwind of fun, and you can even step off walking straight.
Cinderella Carousel, where both children and adults can enjoy, brings back the joy of being a child again. "It's a Small World," a highly popular ride for kids, takes you on a boat journey through spectacular scenes on both sides. It's divided into different zones: Northern Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, America, Asia (including Thailand), and the Pacific Islands. Each zone features the same song sung in different languages, changing as you move through the continents. This is the best of the best! Sleeping Beauty Castle, the iconic symbol of Disneyland worldwide, varies in appearance across different locations. Its most beautiful highlight is at night, especially during the fireworks. You wouldn't want to miss it! "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" is a delightful ride that moves you along the tracks as if you're stepping into a storybook.
"Dumbo the Flying Elephant" lets you ride atop a flying elephant, soaring up and down to enjoy views from a delightful height
Mystic Point Zone
"Mystic Manor" is a zone filled with mysterious adventures set within the enchanted estate where peculiar artifacts from around the world are showcased with a magical, wizard-like theme. The atmosphere inside the manor is both intriguing and thrilling, perfect for exploration.
Grizzly Gulch Zone
In Hong Kong Disneyland, the "Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars" zone captures the rugged, adventurous feel of a gold mining era in America. Guests can experience thrilling mine car rides through the majestic Big Grizzly Mountain, complete with mechanisms that add to the excitement with surprising twists and turns. It may not be as mischievous as other attractions, but it promises hidden surprises. Before concluding your visit, don't miss the "Momentous Nighttime Spectacular" at 9:00 PM (sometimes 8:30 PM), a spectacular show of lights, colors, and sounds. This show is a favorite attraction that cannot be accurately described—its beauty must be experienced firsthand. It's a highlight not to be missed, marking the perfect end to your Disneyland adventure in every country. Be sure to watch the entire show before leaving!
For those who find it hard to handle the kids, I recommend staying at a Disneyland hotel. Within the Hong Kong Disneyland area, there are three main hotels: “Disney's Hollywood Hotel”, “Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel” and the newest one,“Disney's Explorer Lodge” Plus, there's a free shuttle service to and from Disneyland hotels throughout the day! It only takes 5 minutes to travel, which is very convenient. Moreover, you can use a special entrance to Disneyland by showing your key card. The best part is, you can enter and exit Disneyland to relax at the hotel as many times as you like, and you won't miss the grand finale of the show - no need to rush into the city! It's all about having a fantastic time.
